A large-scale study review reveals: one in five implant patients (22%) suffers from peri-implantitis, and almost twice as many (43%) from peri-implant mucositis, which progresses to peri-implantitis if left untreated. Peri-implantitis causes irreversible damage, putting the long-term esthetics and function of restorations at risk.
The European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) considers the high peri-implantitis prevalence a growing public health concern. And in a recent Straumann survey, nearly half of respondents (46%) identified peri-implantitis management as their greatest clinical challenge.
Zero Peri-Implantitis at EuroPerio in Vienna
At EuroPerio11 in Vienna, Prof. Anton Sculean (Switzerland), Prof. Gil Alcoforado (Portugal), Dr. Roland Glauser (Switzerland), and Prof. Andrea Pilloni (Italy) will come together for a standout sponsor session to present a groundbreaking implant concept.
The leading experts will review the development of various implant designs over time and explain how study findings on biological performance and associated risk factors for peri-implant disease (such as screwed retention, fragile adhesion, and intratissular microgaps) have led to the innovation of the "Zero Peri-Implantitis Concept" of the Patent™ Implant.
Session Title
Zero Peri-Implantitis – A Novel Concept in Implant Dentistry
Date
May 15, 2025 (Thursday)
Time
12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Room
Schubert 4–6
Long-term studies have shown that with the “Zero Peri-Implantitis Concept”, it is possible to have no peri-implantitis around dental implants over extended periods. The University of Graz demonstrated this even in high-risk patients with systemic diseases, periodontitis, poor oral hygiene, and smokers.
Don’t miss this unique chance! Learn how to prevent peri-implantitis in daily practice!
