A rough surface provides a larger surface for the bone cells to attach. Patentimplants have a unique manufacturing process wherein the implants are sandblasted in a pre-sintered state to provide a roughened surface with a 5x larger surface area than a machined surface, without jeopardizing the implants strength. As such, they exhibit optimal hydrophilic behavior with a nearly perfect osseointegration rate, as reported in the clinical studies.
